JingDeZhen is an ancient city with more than 1000 years history and re known for its very high quality porcelain productions, kilns and methodology. Unfortunately most of the old buildings were demolished. Luckily, several ancients kilns were repaired and a few were revived and re-ignited to begin firing again. A visit to the Traditional Old Folks Kiln Center is a MUST. It is situated at Ild Capital Kiln Road (0798-853-4444). Its beautifully preserved, set, repaired and extended.You will see and experience some of the old JDZ. This place took me back to the JDZ of old to some degree. Admission fee ¥90. Forget about going to the JDZ National Ceramics Museum. It was a waste of time to visit and money to build. Once you know where to go and what to do, you will enjoy here more. I wasted 2 days there not finding what I wanted to see. Almost given up and disappointed until I found the Tradional Old Kilns Center through my hostel roommate. That truly made my day!!! It was so totally worth it. I will return again, hopefully this winter to see the other 50% of the Center. Yes it was that large. And to visit two other places which I was reluctant at first but decides to go now.

Pottery workshop street very interesting, great place to pick up some porcelain. Sanbao area worth the side trip (we took a taxi for ease). Also took the side trip to Yaoli, taking buses. Not easy unless you speak Chinese, to know the intermediate bus transfer point.

Jingdezhen is any artists dream location, esp if you are a ceramist! Watching artisans work in their studios throwing, constructing, trimming, laying molds, glazing, etc.. and the details and patience!!! LOVE this place! Can never get enough of it!
