The place is nice even though there is lot of construction along the area, it is acceptable. what is missing around the area is restaurants, we are forced to eat at places we don't prefer as there is not much choice to choose from. the area is close to beach and little bit of care from municipality is missing.

It's an amazing sea front town with a newly built mall...
It's an amazing sea front town with a newly built mall before the nature reserve area. Closer to the beach you will find more smaller shops but ideal for the odds and ends. Parking right along Beach road, many beaches along the way and lots of "rock pools" along this stretch of the coast.

Beautiful beaches, rock pools and clear skies. Dunes, river area, roads and buildings are still under restoration after the floods of 2023. This makes the town area ugly but the beaches are great. Lots of litter in the streets and some on the beach which is very sad.ElmariSouth Africa - 10Scored 10
This apartment was absolutely spotless and ever so...
This apartment was absolutely spotless and ever so comfortable. It had everything necessary for a wonderful stay. The linen was great and the towels were big and thick, there was a huge TV and excellent Wi-fi. The décor is outstanding with attention to detail, beautifully decorated and fitted out. We had a lovely view of the sea and beach with restaurants and shops a few meters away, a supermarket a short walk away. Everything was just perfect, I give it 10/10 and all thanks to Tereza, the owner who was so accommodating and welcoming and definitely has a flair for perfection. First time at Umdloti and will recommend to all my friends and family. The beaches are beautiful, the locals are extremely friendly and helpful and all the shops are close by and neat. Can't believe that we have never traveled to this beautiful destination. Easy to get around with even local Tuk-Tuks, very nice restaurants along the beach, North and South. Top marks to hosts Sharon snd John for superb customer service (so often lacking in SA these days) - both Sharon and John are on hand 24/7 it seems to ensure their guests want for nothing and Sharon makes the best breakfast. I will be back.
